Tinc is a VPN that works as a mesh network, where any node that belongs to the network is enabled to connect to others without authorization from a central node or server. It just needs a "friend" or link from inside the network that allows it to connect and thus become it's entry point to the network.
Once it's working, it behaves like a normal network, and even services that were previously local, like shared folders, local chat and others, are available again.
